Whitewater's run to history continued Sunday in Grand Chute with a dominating 10-4 win over St. Thomas (Minn.) Sunday in the NCAA DIII World Series at Fox Cities Stadium.

The Warhawks Michael Gonzalez, Jared Fon, and Nick Kuhlmann each recorded two RBI.

Whitewater (43-7) took control with a six-run eighth to remain the only undefeated team left in the double-elimination tournament.

They play again Tuesday at noon against a yet to be determined opponent.

Whitewater is attempting to become the first team in NCAA history to win the football, basketball, and baseball championships in a single academic year.


Madison College is at the NJCAA DII World Series in Enid, Oklahoma for a fifth straight year and won their opener on Saturday, 11-3, over Westchester Community College (NY).

Dan Schmidt and Luke Yapp powered the Wolfpack with a home run each.

MATC (43-15) play again Monday at 7pm against Southeastern Community College (IA).


The Whitewater softball team's run to a national title ended Sunday in Tyler, Texas at the hands of the defending champs.

Tufts defeated, and eliminated, the Warhawks with an 8-0 victory in five innings.

Whitewater finished their season with a 39-13 record.
