Police Officers Help Out After 9-Year-Old's Lemonade Stand Was Robbed

A young boy from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota decided to set up a lemonade stand during a recent heat wave to earn a few extra dollars. Last Thursday, Gracen was having a really good day, earning around $20.

Unfortunately, a couple of older kids rode by on their bikes and grabbed the money Gracen had earned. Gracen called his dad Mark and asked what he should do. His father told him not to bother the police and then prayed for his son.

"I said that he probably shouldn’t bother them, but I did pray for him over the phone using the verse from Proverbs 6:31 that says whatever the thief steals, he has to pay back sevenfold.”

A few minutes later, Mark called back Gracen and told him that he should call the police.

"Later I called him back and told him to go ahead and call the police that if they weren’t busy maybe they would help him out. "

When Mark got home there were two police cars in front of his house and he watched as one of the officers told his son that "she was going to replace his $20" but handed the bill to Mark for safekeeping. A few minutes later, another officer showed up and bought four more cups of Gracen's lemonade. By the time Gracen decided to call it a day, he had earned $50.

He didn't let the theft deter him, and was back out there the next morning continuing to sell lemonade. Another officer showed up the following day and Gracen's mother couldn't hold back her tears and she thanked him for helping her son.

“My wife and I were really blessed. In fact the next day another officer stopped by for lemonade, and she was out there with tears in her eyes thanking him. She couldn’t believe that people would do this for a child.  I had tears in my eyes too, that it was so precious that something so little could mean so much."
