Researchers from the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, the University of Bamberg, and The Ohio State University evaluated data from 10k participants and decided that the “power pose” really does affect your confidence levels, showing what they say is a link between posing and self-perception.

What’s a ‘power pose?’ Tightly crossing your arms over your chest and rolling your shoulders back, or standing with your legs spread and your hands on your hips are two examples of what the researchers call a ‘power pose;’ participants were found to be more persistent with tasks when they used the trick.
