Scientists say there's a new way to get your healthier.... it's by eating crickets. Valerie Stull, a doctoral graduate of the UW Madison Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, looks at what eating crickets does to the human body.
She says consuming crickets can help support the growth of beneficial gut bacteria and that eating crickets is not only safe but may also reduce inflammation of the body. People all around the world consume insects regularly, which are a good source of protein, vitamins, minerals and healthy fats.
I'm not sure I can get on board with this... I might need a couple glasses of wine or a shot of whiskey before I try a cricket.
