Hurricane Florence will be coming ashore in the Carolinas within the next 24 hours. This is a very scary situation, and will most likely ALTER how the coastline is shaped there (that's insane). Yesterday inside the hurricane, 83 foot high waves were reported. Let me say that again...
83 FOOT HIGH WAVES!
Wow. Forecasts predict that Florence will come ashore and then just churn for a while before moving on, potentially dropping 40 inches of rain, not too mention the storm surge and hurricane force winds.
The Frying Pan Shoals Light Tower is a decommissioned light house about 30 miles off the coast of North Carolina. It's actually been converted to a bed and breakfast now, but they have a live webcam going from the top of the tower. When I checked the camera earlier, that American flag wasn't ripped yet. Depending on when you watch this after I post it, it might not be there anymore.
Check this out, and turn your volume down first. It's LOUD with the wind.
