Survey: Almost 1 In 6 Gen Zers Won't Take A Job If There's No Nap Room!

It’s not just salary and health benefits packages that Gen Z job seekers are looking for. There are some must-have perks they look for while sorting through job listings. Resume-building website Resume.io spoke to 1,000 professionals from across the states to find out what these must-have perks are.

 

According to the survey, when it came to Gen Z:

  • Almost 1 in 6 won’t take a job if there isn’t a designated snooze space at the office
  • 1 in 5 say a “fun room” that has things like ping pong tables or other recreational activities is essential to their work environment
  • 1 in 5 won’t consider a position if the office isn’t pet-friendly
  • 33% expect free snacks and lunches in the workplace
  • 1 in 3 said a four-day workweek is a non-negotiable
  • 1 in 4 expect “extended” sabbatical leaves “for personal development or travel”

 

“It’s clear Gen-Z isn’t shy about voicing what they want from today’s workplace, and for many, it goes beyond salary and health insurance,” said certified professional career and Resume.io resident expert, Amanda Augustine. She explains that the younger generations are “pushing back against the old model of constant hustle and burnout” as they value flexibility and “a more enjoyable day-to-day experience.”
